Here’s what to expect on the job.

What You’ll Do

  • Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic through active work zones
  • Communicate with fellow flaggers using radios and hand signals
  • Maintain safe traffic flow around construction sites
  • Follow jobsite safety procedures throughout your shift
  • Coordinate with crews to keep operations running smoothly

Requirements

  • Must live in Utah
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Able to work outdoors in changing weather
  • English communication required for safety coordination
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Flagger certification required before starting — YES covers the cost

What to Wear

  • Steel-toe boots
  • Orange hard hat
  • Class 3 reflective safety vest
  • Weather-ready clothing for outdoor conditions
Standard safety gear is required on every shift. YES provides your safety vest. Everything else is standard construction gear you’ll keep job to job.
